Algory is a Windows app, but you do not need a Windows PC to run it. Whether you are on a Mac, an Android phone, an iPhone or a tablet, you rent a small Windows computer in the cloud (a VPS) that stays on 24/7, install Algory and MetaTrader 5 on it once, then control the whole thing from your device like a remote screen.
Several Algory users already run it this way. This guide walks you through it from zero. Take it one phase at a time. The hard part is only the first setup, and you only do it once.
HOW THIS WORKS

Think of your Mac or phone as a window, not the computer. The real machine is the VPS, an always-on Windows PC living in a data centre. Algory and MetaTrader 5 both run on the VPS, not on your device.
You connect to the VPS over Remote Desktop, set everything up once, then disconnect. The VPS keeps running and keeps trading 24/5 even when your device is off or the app is closed. Whenever you want to check in, breed new strategies, or rotate a bot, you just reconnect.

01RENT A WINDOWS VPS
A VPS is a computer you rent in the cloud that never turns off. You need a full Windows VPS that gives you Administrator access and Remote Desktop, so you can install your own apps.
Pick a provider that offers a Windows VPS with full Administrator access and Remote Desktop (RDP). Most cloud hosts list this as a "Windows VPS" or "Windows Cloud Server".
Choose Windows Server 2022 (or Windows 10 / 11) as the operating system.
Aim for at least 4 CPU cores, 8 GB RAM, and 50 GB SSD. More cores breed strategies faster, because Algory uses every core you give it. 6 to 8 cores and 16 GB RAM is a comfortable sweet spot.
After you order, the provider emails you three things: the VPS public IP address, a username (usually Administrator), and a password. Keep these safe, you need them to connect.
HEADS UPDo not use a broker's free MT5 VPS
Brokers often offer a free or cheap VPS, but those only run MetaTrader and will not let you install other programs. Algory cannot be installed on them. You need a real Windows VPS where you have Administrator rights.
NOTERough cost
A Windows VPS with these specs is usually around fifteen to forty dollars a month depending on the provider and how many cores you pick. Faster cores finish campaigns sooner.
02CONNECT FROM YOUR DEVICE
You control the VPS with a Remote Desktop app. Microsoft makes a free, official one for every device.
Install Microsoft's Remote Desktop app (now called Windows App) on your device: from the Mac App Store on a Mac, from Google Play on Android, or from the App Store on an iPhone or iPad. It is free.
Open it and add a PC or add a desktop.
For the PC name or host, type your VPS public IP address.
Add the user account: the username (Administrator) and the password your provider sent you.
Connect. If it asks about a certificate, accept it. Your VPS's Windows desktop now appears on your screen.
TIPMake setup comfortable
On a Mac, run it full screen. On a phone or tablet, turn the device sideways and pinch to zoom in. A mouse and keyboard make the one-time setup far easier than tapping on glass. After setup you barely need to touch it.
03INSTALL METATRADER 5 ON THE VPS
Algory pulls its market data through MetaTrader 5, so MT5 goes on the VPS first. Do everything in this phase inside the remote desktop (on the VPS), not in your own device's apps.
On the VPS, open the Edge browser and go to your broker's website.
Download their MetaTrader 5 and install it.
Open MT5 and log in with your broker account. A demo or a live account both work.
Wait until you see price charts loading. That confirms the broker connection is live and Algory will be able to read data.
04INSTALL ALGORY ON THE VPS
Now install Algory itself, again inside the remote desktop on the VPS.
Still on the VPS, go to algory.app and log into your account.
Click DOWNLOAD to get the installer, then run Algory_Setup.exe.
If Windows shows a blue "Windows protected your PC" warning, click More info, then Run anyway. This is normal for new software and is not a virus.
Choose the install location (the default is fine) and click INSTALL. Wait for it to finish.
05ACTIVATE + LINK MT5
Last setup step. After this you are fully up and running.
Open Algory from the desktop shortcut on the VPS.
Go to your account page at algory.app and copy your Pro license key.
Paste the key into Algory's login window and click Activate.
Algory verifies the key, launches with full Pro access, and automatically detects the MT5 you installed. You are ready to breed.
06BREED, COMPILE, GO LIVE
From here it is the normal Algory flow, the same as on any PC, just on the VPS. The full detail is in the How To Use Algory guide; the short version:
Run a campaign: pick symbols, timeframes and risk, set your prop-firm toggles, and hit START.
Open the winners in the Vault, review them, and build a portfolio (twenty to forty decorrelated bots is the sweet spot).
Deploy the portfolio to MT5, then run a Parity Test in the MT5 Strategy Tester before trusting it.
Attach each compiled bot to its chart in MT5, enable AutoTrading, and leave MT5 running.
TIPKeep MT5 open on the VPS
A bot only trades while MT5 is open and connected. Because the VPS never turns off, your bots keep trading around the clock once AutoTrading is on. That is the whole point of running on a VPS.
07DISCONNECT, DON'T SHUT DOWN
This is the part people get wrong, so read it twice.
When you are done, just close the Remote Desktop app or tap Disconnect. The VPS stays on in the cloud and keeps trading.
Never click Shut down on the VPS itself, because that turns the computer off and stops your bots. If you ever do, you have to reconnect and turn it back on through your provider's dashboard.
Reconnect from your device any time to check on trades, breed new strategies, or rotate a bot whose edge has faded.
QUICK ANSWERS
Do I have to keep my device on?
No. The VPS does all the work. Your Mac or phone is only a window to look in. You can switch it off and Algory keeps running on the VPS.
Will it really trade while I sleep?
Yes. The VPS runs 24/5 with the market. That is exactly why you use one instead of a home machine you have to leave on.
Breeding feels slow.
Add more CPU cores to your VPS. Algory scales with cores, so a bigger box finishes campaigns noticeably faster.
Can I just use my broker's free VPS?
No. Those only run MetaTrader and block new installs, so Algory will not go on them. Use a full Windows VPS where you are Administrator.
I lost connection or see a black screen.
Nothing broke. The VPS kept running. Just open the Remote Desktop app and reconnect.
