HOW TO USE ALGORY

THE SOP: FROM EMPTY VAULT TO A LIVE PORTFOLIO OF BOTS.

Read this first, because it is the thing people get wrong: Algory does not trade for you. It is a strategy factory, not an auto-trader, and it does not place a single trade on its own.

What Algory does is breed and test trading strategies, then hand you the good ones as bots. You build a portfolio of those bots and run them in MetaTrader 5, and the bots are what place the trades. Pressing launch on a campaign does not open a position, it starts the search for strategies.

Below is the full operating procedure, in order. Do the phases top to bottom. Once you have done it once, every strategy after follows the same path. The screens shown are the Command Deck, the interface Algory opens with; if you use the Legacy dashboard instead, the flow is identical and each phase notes where the buttons live there.

THE MAP (KNOW THE 3 AREAS)

Algory has three main areas, and the work flows one way through them.

The CONTROL tab is where you set up a breeding run: you pick the markets, the timeframes and the risk, then hit LAUNCH in the header.

The VAULT is your shelf of survivors. Only strategies that pass every generation and the out-of-sample test land here. Click one and the Inspector opens with its full passport.

The PORTFOLIOS tab is where you build the team, read its diversity grade, and deploy it to MT5.

The flow only goes one way: CONTROL to VAULT to PORTFOLIO to DEPLOY to MT5 to LIVE.

01BUILD AND RUN A CAMPAIGN

A campaign is one breeding run. You tell Algory what to search and it does the rest.

  1. On the CONTROL tab, pick your markets and timeframes under TARGETS, and your risk percent and starting balance under PARAMETERS.
  2. Set your prop-firm guardrails first: News Filter, Daily Drawdown Limit, Friday Close, and the exposure caps Symbol Lock and Max Agg Risk. These get baked into the strategy's DNA at breeding time, so they must be right before you run.
  3. Hit LAUNCH in the header (the run controls sit at the top of every tab). The genetic engine breeds and tests thousands of strategies. The ones that survive every generation and pass out-of-sample validation drop into your Vault automatically.
HEADS UPLAUNCH breeds, it does not trade

Hitting LAUNCH runs the search for strategies. It does not open any trades and does not touch your broker account. Trading only happens later, once you compile a bot and run it in MT5. Algory builds your team of bots, the bots do the trading.

TIPLet it cook

A campaign takes time and uses every CPU core. Leave it running. Winners appear in the Vault as they pass, so you do not have to watch it.

NOTEOn the Legacy dashboard

The same setup lives in the Campaign panel's New Campaign tab, and START launches it.

02REVIEW THE WINNERS IN THE VAULT

Not every survivor is one you want to trade. Check each before you build it into a portfolio.

  1. Open the VAULT tab and click a strategy. The Inspector opens on the right with the full passport.
  2. Check the Algory Score, the archetype and mechanism, the DNA, and the equity curve. The blue part of the curve is out-of-sample, data the strategy never trained on, and it is the honest part.
  3. Confirm the guardrails and settings match what you set for the campaign. If something looks wrong, run a fresh campaign with the correct settings.
03BUILD YOUR PORTFOLIO

This is the step that makes Algory work for you. One bot is one specialist. A portfolio is a hand-picked team of them that do not all win or lose at the same time, so the account stays smoother. You assemble it yourself from the Vault.

  1. In the Vault, right-click a strategy you like and choose ADD TO PORTFOLIO. Pick an existing portfolio or create a new one. The same button sits in the Inspector.
  2. Repeat until you have a real team. Twenty to forty strategies is the sweet spot; spread them across different markets, timeframes and archetypes, so they trade for different reasons and not all at once.
  3. Open the PORTFOLIOS tab to see the team: every member's stats, the combined equity curve, and the DIVERSITY GRADE scoring how well spread it is. Aim for a high grade.
  4. A low grade names the axis that is too concentrated, which tells you which campaigns to run next to fill the gaps. REMOVE on a member row drops it from the team.
TIPWhy a team beats one bot

Each bot is tuned to one kind of market and fades when that market changes. A spread of twenty to forty decorrelated bots means that while some are quiet or losing, others are working. That is what turns single strategies into a steadier account.

NOTEOn the Legacy dashboard

Right-click a vault row for Add To Portfolio, and the Portfolios tab holds the group plus the Diversity Tracker panel.

04DEPLOY THE PORTFOLIO TO METATRADER 5

Deploying compiles each strategy into a real MT5 bot (an Expert Advisor) and drops it straight into your MT5 Experts folder. You can do the whole portfolio at once.

  1. On the PORTFOLIOS tab, set SCOPE to ALL and press DEPLOY to compile every bot in the portfolio in one go. For a single strategy, right-click it in the Vault and choose DEPLOY.
  2. Confirm the popup that shows how many strategies will be compiled and where they are going.
  3. If News Filter is on, a reminder popup appears (the MT5 news calendar only works on live or demo accounts, not the Strategy Tester). Click COMPILE to continue.
  4. In MT5, right-click inside the Navigator panel and click Refresh. Your bots now appear under Expert Advisors.
NOTEOn the Legacy dashboard

DEPLOY ALL on the Portfolios tab does the same, or right-click a vault row and choose Deploy.

05PARITY TEST (NEVER SKIP THIS)

The parity test proves the MT5 bot takes the same trades as Algory's backtest. It is your safety check before any money is involved.

  1. In MT5, open the Strategy Tester (Ctrl+R) and switch to Single mode.
  2. Set the bot, the exact symbol and timeframe it was bred on, a start date equal to the strategy's first trade date, and modelling set to 1 minute OHLC (Algory resolves fills on M1 sub-bars, not ticks, so this matches it and runs in seconds).
  3. Run it. Compare the net return to Algory's; they should be in the same ballpark. Then read the Parity Score in the Journal tab.
NOTEReading the score

Grade A or B is safe to deploy. Grade C can still be traded if the MT5 return is strong and out-of-sample held up. Grade D or F needs a careful look before you trust it.

06FORWARD TEST ON DEMO

Before live money, let the bots prove themselves on a demo account against fresh market data.

  1. Drag each bot from the Navigator onto a chart with its correct symbol and timeframe.
  2. Turn on AutoTrading (the green button) and tick Allow Algo Trading in each bot's settings.
  3. Let them run for a week or two. Check they trade during the right session hours, respect News and Friday Close, and the combined equity curve is heading the right way.
07GO LIVE AND SIZE YOUR RISK

Once the demo run looks healthy, move the portfolio to your live or funded account.

  1. Attach each bot to the same chart on your live or funded account and enable AutoTrading.
  2. Set your account heat (your total risk if every trade that can be open hit its stop at once) below 3.5 percent on prop-firm accounts, or up to 10 percent on a personal account. With Symbol Lock on, divide your target by your number of symbols to get each bot's risk; the Portfolio & Risk guide has the full arithmetic.
  3. Do not change a bot's inputs, and never re-optimise it in MT5's tester. That curve-fits it and destroys the edge. To refine a strategy, run a new Algory campaign instead.
TIPRotate as the edge fades

Each bot is a specialist for one kind of market, so its edge naturally fades over time. Retrain on fresh data now and then and watch its Algory Score. When the score drops, retire that bot and breed a new one to replace it. Deploy, monitor, rotate.

QUICK ANSWERS

Will Algory just start trading once I open it?
No. Algory only breeds and tests strategies. Nothing trades until you build a portfolio, compile the bots, and run them in MT5 with AutoTrading on. You are the one who puts the team on the field.
Which screen do I start on?
The CONTROL tab. Configure the campaign there and hit LAUNCH in the header. On the Legacy dashboard it is the Campaign panel's New Campaign tab. Everything starts with a campaign.
How many bots should a portfolio have?
Twenty to forty is the sweet spot, spread across different markets and timeframes so they do not all win or lose together. The Diversity Tracker grades how well spread yours is.
Do I really have to parity test every strategy?
Yes. It is the one check that proves the live bot matches the backtest. Skipping it is how people get surprised on a live account.
Can I tweak a bot's settings in MT5?
No. The genetic engine tuned every setting. Changing them breaks the edge. If you want different behaviour, run a new campaign.
QUESTIONS WHILE YOU DRIVE IT?

Ask in the Algory Discord and I will help you read your results. The more campaigns you run, the more this becomes second nature.
